35 years is a long time... and running a restaurant as alive as Bacchus for 35 years is a life time. But it still seems as if the restaurant opened its doors yesterday for owner and managing director Mario Vella Gatt who is just as passionate about what is achieved today by the restaurant as he was when the doors first opened on that Summer’s day in August of 1976. The kitchen brigade is led by Antoinne Mamo who leads through humble example and has those qualities that inspire and encourage his team to produce real time experiences turning fresh produce into culinary delights.

Chef Patron Andrew Borg welcomes you to his restaurant in Malta’s capital, Valletta. With a small daily changing menu showcasing modern French techniques, Black Pig is the perfect place for those special occasions as well as for casual everyday dining. Andrew runs the kitchen with high regard towards seasonality and local ingredients, and he excels in delivering a memorable dining experience. Complementing Andrew’s bold creations is a small wine list featuring Italian and French wines with a bias towards biodynamic wines. The dining room seats up to 20 guests which allows for an attentive yet laid-back service.

Giuseppi’s has been run by Michael Diacono, a self-taught chef, for the last 20 years. Michael has worked in the food industry from a very young age and has been invited to appear on quite a few TV shows both locally and abroad including La Prova Del Cuoco on the Italian Channel RAI in October 2008. Together with assistant chef Mark Cauchi and thanks to our passion for food, Giuseppi’s has built a solid reputation for fine dining. The restaurant has received numerous awards from The Definitive(ly) Good Guide in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009.

The Restaurant is an authentic old farmhouse. It is surrounded by beautiful country views of Xaghra, Zebbug, Maraslforn valley. Over the years there have been various improvement to make the restaurant more comfortable. Improvements have always been sustainable in order to keep the original farmhouse feeling alive. The latest developments have been the herb garden situated at the entrance which was inspired and named after Frances Bissile who visits Gozo and Ta’Frenc regularly and the wine cellar. All herbs and flowers grown are organic, edible and used on the menus.
